  Running School Budget


Where Is My Contribution Going?
Running School is committed to being a lean operation where your contribution has a maximum impact on the number of students we serve. At our initial annual budget goal of $150,000 for the 2007-2008 school year, we will serve approximately 4,750 students at nine schools - at an average annual cost per student of $26. Hence, your $260 contribution equates to serving 10 children for a year of fitness programming; $2,600 serves 100 children, etc.

While fundraising is a paramount importance to sustain any non-profit organization, we pledge to never spend more than ten percent of our budget on fundraising expenses. Our overhead is low thanks to a rent-free office, stocked with a network of computers, telephone and internet, provided by Bradventures LLC. Our Board of Directors and Advisory Board members all serve as volunteers. At each school event, our paid Coaching Staff is supported by a substantial number of parent volunteers. Generally accepted accounting standards for non-profits value this volunteer time at $21/hour. Our numerous strategic partnerships with corporate sponsors (Jamba Juice, Specialized Water Bottles, Clif Bar, Globe Footwear, Mrs. May's) deliver an additional 64 cents per student in program value for every dollar you contribute to the program!
